Community-based Conservation, Capacity Building and Joint Security Patrol, Northern Rangelands Trust, Kenya

The long-term conservation of wildlife depends upon a collective approach between communities, government, and non-government organizations. This comprehensive program builds sustainable community development through the generation of income based on wildlife and environmental conservation while protecting elephants and other wildlife. Additional activities include habitat management such as grassland restoration and planned grazing programs, and monitoring of wildlife and wildlife security by well-equipped and trained community scouts.
