Research Priorities of Tuberculosis for Elephants in Human Care

The goal of the Task Force is to share current scientific research and information about tuberculosis in elephants. This is accomplished through workshops that through facilitated and breakout sessions identify research and management priorities and develop action plans to further the understanding of the identification, management and treatment of tuberculosis in elephants. There is a critical need for stakeholders to come together to focus on the sharing of information and to collaborate on detecting, diagnosing, treating, and ultimately reducing the impact of this devastating disease so that we may ensure a future for captive and wild elephants.
