Transnational Collaboration to Disrupt Cambodia-China Illegal Wildlife Trade Channels

Despite much progress being made, Cambodia remains a potential source and a transit country for illegal wildlife products including ivory, and a destination country for African elephant ivory shipments largely intended for Chinese nationals doing business in the region. This project will disrupt the main wildlife trade channels between Cambodia and China with the goal of shutting off the supply pipeline. Investigators in both countries will work together to gather intelligence, share information, and work with authorities to lead to interception of ivory and other illegal wildlife products. Cambodian investigators will also receive training and capacity building assistance to enhance their ability to conduct online and in-person investigations.
