Dr. Alfred Roca Joins Us for A Conservation Chat
Our next Conservation Chat is going to be all about African forest elephants.
Join us on Monday, March 9th at 9:00am PST / 11:00am Central where our special guest Dr. Alfred Roca will join us.
Dr. Alfred Roca is a genetics professor at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign (UIUC). He earned his doctorate at Harvard University, then conducted research at the Laboratory of Genomic Diversity before joining UIUC. He has published over 110 peer-reviewed scientific journal articles, including the first strong genetic evidence that African forest and savanna elephants comprise distinct species. His research interests include the population genetics of elephants, and genomic studies of wildlife, domesticated animals and human health.
This is a unique opportunity to learn from the man who is largely responsible for a JUMBO change in the elephant world! Come learn and get inspired!
