IEF has two incredible Conservation Chats planned that you need to know about!
On Thursday, April 2 at 8am PST/10am Central, we will have perhaps the most unique Conservation Chat to date: an exclusive look at San Diego Zoo Safari Park’s Elephant Valley!
Elephant Valley is a new, immersive habitat where guests can step into a savanna-like environment and see African elephants up close. During the visit, members of the elephant care team will offer an exclusive behind-the-scenes look at the space while sharing insights into elephant behavior and conservation.
IEF has never done a Chat like this and we know it will be one you don’t want to miss! It is completely free to attend. RSVP today to get your link to join and receive the replay: https://tinyurl.com/ConservationChat.
Another upcoming Conservation Chat will feature Christopher Powles of the Mount Elgon Foundation. He will discuss the incredible elephants who live on the slopes of Mount Elgon, an ancient extinct volcano straddling the Kenya-Uganda border. These elephants are the world’s only known “cave-mining” elephants. They venture deep into salt-rich caves—up to 200 meters inside—using their tusks to gouge walls and lick exposed sodium deposits. Come learn about this special population of elephants and the work that IEF is supporting on June 4th at 9am PDT/11am Central.
