Greetings!

It’s Day 3 of our 12 Days of Beautiful Elephant Photos! Today we feature the desert elephants of Namibia. Known for their wider feet and ability to live in the desert landscapes of Namibia and Mali, these elephants typically move large distances from waterhole to waterhole. This movement creates dangerous situations for the farmers in the area whose land and livestock are threatened.

Your support continues the PEACE (People and Elephants Amicably Co-Existing) Project where communities affected by conflict are taught safety techniques, mitigation strategies, and waterholes are built so elephants don’t have to move through human landscapes. Education and investment in communities is helping to protect humans and elephants, building a better future!

Protection from the Rain & Elements

Rain or shine, poachers are killing animals. This means that Rangers, Eco-Guards, Wildlife Officers, and Wildlife Protection Teams must be on patrol as well. Uniforms, including hats, boots, rain jackets and more, help these brave individuals do their important work. These uniforms also give them a sense of pride and camaraderie.

Taking care of those who take care of wildlife is a small gesture that goes a long way! For $50 you can provide things like a uniform and rain gear for a wildlife protection team member.
