Day 5 of our 12 Days of Beautiful Elephant Photos takes us back to Africa! These elephants were spotted by the 9-1 and 9-2 Anti-Poaching Teams of the Northern Rangelands Trust. These teams have lead to significant declines in elephant poaching throughout the region. During the pandemic declines in government funding and resources led to an upsurge in wildlife crime, making these teams even more essential to wildlife protection. This stunning mother and calf are evidence of that.

While on patrol, Rangers, Eco-Guards, Wildlife Officers, and Wildlife Protection Teams need to see beyond their footsteps through the trees. Binoculars help them spot wildlife, track movements, and identify threats far past where they stand.
