Conservation Chat with Tashi Wangdi

February 28th at 7am PST/ 9am Central

Have you been watching our Conservation Chats? This monthly free program gives you direct access to global conservationists, researchers, and elephant experts. You can connect with and learn from someone on the other side of the globe who is working every day to protect and preserve elephants.

For our next Conservation Chat we welcome Tashi Wangdi (pictured above). He serves as the Human-Elephant Conflict focal person under the Divisional Forest Office, Sarpang, Bhutan, working for over five years with local communities to mitigate HEC challenges. As a project leader for an IEF-supported project, he spearheaded a robust initiative to educate students and local communities that was so well received it was filmed and broadcast across the entire nation on the Bhutan Broadcasting Service (BBS), the national media outlet. Tashi uses tried and true methodologies as well as social media platforms to build the next generation of conservationists, and even composed a song to cultivate positive attitudes towards elephants. This Conservation Chat is sure to be fascinating!
