North American EEHV Advisory Group Seeks New Members

Calling qualified elephant professionals! The North American EEHV Advisory Group is a group of about 30 subject matter experts united in a common mission to reduce elephant deaths due to EEHV, through updating and dissemination of current best practices, providing technical assistance, and advocating for and facilitating research to better understand, diagnose, manage and treat EEHV. They are seeking applications for new members for their Outreach and/or Guidelines/Resources Committees. The call for applicants is open until March 7th. For more information on how to apply please visit www.eehvinfo.org.

EEHV, or Elephant Endotheliotropic Herpesvirus, is a deadly disease that affects all species of elephants whether they live in human care or in the wild. There is currently no cure, but because of dedicated researchers and scientists there is a vaccine to provide protective immunity in the early stages of implementation. IEF proudly supports these efforts, and others to find effective treatments and learn more about the disease.
